Bowenwork Procedures

Modules 8 – 12

Modules 8 through 12 include 40+ new procedures and help you to build your understanding of how and when to use certain moves. All classes below count towards American Bowen Academy continuing education credits and many of them also satisfy the requirement for practitioners to regularly review the basic work.

These modules must be taken in sequence following the guidelines listed below.

Module 8 Description – two 8-hour days – Cost: $430

Module 8 is a review of all the material taught in Modules 1-6, with an emphasis on deepening students’ understanding of how to use procedures in a clinical setting, marketing, and business practices. Module 8 includes four new procedures, Ossie’s Handy Hints, and a discussion of practitioners’ clinical cases.

Prerequisites:
Completion of Module 7 at least three months earlier

Module 9 Description – two 8-hour days – Cost: $480

Module 9 covers 12 new procedures that are helpful for the more persistent and unusual symptoms that clients present.

Prerequisites:
• Completion of Module 7 at least nine months earlier
• Completion of Module 8
• Fulfillment of all requirements for certification as a Professional Bowenwork Practitioner

Module 10 Description – two 8-hour days – Cost: $480

Module 10 includes written and practical assessments of the Module 9 material and hands-on demonstration of all procedures learned.

A Specialized Procedures 1 certificate is issued upon successful completion of this module.
Prerequisites: Completion of Module 9 at least six months earlier and 30 log hours documented.

Module 11 Description – two 8-hour days – Cost: $480

Module 11 further reinforces the “less is best” principle that makes Bowenwork so effective. The material offers much to the experienced practitioner with more than 30 additional procedures.

Prerequisites: Module 10 certificate of completion

Module 12 Description – two 8-hour days – Cost: $480

Module 12 includes a written and practical assessment on the Module 11 material only, plus a hands-on demonstration of all procedures learned.

A Module 12 certificate is issued upon successful completion of this module.

Prerequisites: Completion of Module 11 at least six months earlier and 30 log hours documented.

Practitioner Day A – one day – Cost: $215 (a review of all lower body procedures, exercises, and protocols).
Practitioner Day B – one day – Cost: $215 (a review of all upper body procedures, exercises, and protocols).
Practitioner Day C – one day – Cost: $215 (a review of Specialized Procedures 1, Module 9, exercises and protocols).
Practitioner Day D – one day – Cost: $215(a review of Specialized Procedures 2, Module 11, exercises and protocols).
Practitioner Days-Visual and Manual Assessment – two- 8-hour days – Cost: $430

Certain Focused Studies classes count as the review of the basic work and/or contact hours.

Bowenwork satisfies some other organizations’ continuing education requirements. For example:

  • National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork
  • Oregon Board of Naturopathic Medicine
